So, Gerard, tell us a little bit about yourself.
How did you start modelling?
About four years ago, I was a host at a private event in Caracas. There I met a photographer friend, one of the currently most important in Venezuela (Anibal Velasquez) who insisted on making a photo shoot. I had never done a session with a professional photographer, who guided me and was an excellent director testing photo study. I could not believe the results. The photos were published on his blog and social networks, and since then I have been modelling as alternative work.

What has been your best experience as a model so far?
I really had good and bad experiences as a model, this happens to many of us. To be honest, the best work I’ve done so far I did a year ago when Raquel Lopez, a make-up artist, hired me as a model to participate in Beauty Forum Valencia 2015. We took the first place. Winning in Valencia gave Spain a classification at the Beauty Forum in Munich, where Raquel Lopez won third place for Spain. The reasons to say it was the best experience, it is because security in itself, beyond the opinions of others: the theme of the competition was focused on Priscilla (the main character in the film by Stephan Elliott: Priscilla, Queen of the Desert). Raquel was responsible for the makeup and I had to give life to the character. It was a good team. I must confess that at first I did not feel comfortable playing a drag queen (ha ha ha) in front of many people, but I did it for a great friendship and it was fun and enriching.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
I want to live in Barcelona, full of happiness, in a couple, in a modest house and with a child or maybe two. Five years can go very fast and you can do many things, if you propose and do not waste time. Maybe I would have my own line of swimwear, create a line of men’s fragrances, ecological! But for that I have to work hard. I do not want to be rich, not famous, but work in the most honest way, create jobs and help my family in my country.

Time to talk underwear! How often do you buy new underwear?
I usually buy very little clothing in general. A long time since I went shopping, but I can buy underwear maybe twice a year, or more. A lot of my underwear is given me after photo sessions or as gifts from friends. Curiously, on weekends I do not use underwear.
What is your favourite underwear style and colour?
I prefer the classic style and briefs. Comfortable and masculine. They must be 100% cotton and thick, preferably a strong elastic waistband. I like them in black, white or grey.
Any favourite brands?
With the brands I’m not picky. I look for comfort and quality, but I have some favourites, from Calvin Klein, Emporio Armani, Discover, Modus Vivendi, Marcuse, 2(X)IST, ES Collection, or from stores like Benetton.
