If you’re looking for sexy and provocative, Body Aware puts the sizzle in men’s underwear. Founded in 1986, the one-time British company now calls the USA home, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Their American made underwear is cutting edge, utilising unique fabrics and styles in the male underwear market.
According to Body Aware’s Creative Director Anna Volina, the company “focuses on creating new and exciting designs each month. We don’t tend to do collections or follow seasons. We definitely have staple items that we keep bringing back in different colours and fabrics since we know our customers love the fit of our tangas, thongs, and briefs.” Body Aware is about variety. For example, some items have structured pouches, while others like the popular Greek God Brief have no pouch, but rather a stretchy, satin fabric which allows for a wonderful, different feeling on your body.
Volina added, “Our goal is to always have sexy designs in fabrics that normal underwear wouldn’t usually come in for men.” Customers return to Body Aware out of curiosity to see what their designers have cooked up next. They like to see how Body Aware puts their own twist into current style trends. Body Aware is for the adventurous man.
Volina keeps the stylish creative and marketing aspects of Body Aware “fun and masculine.” She commented, “I get inspired a lot by movies, various eras, and current trends that can work with our underwear while still keeping our item as the centre of attention, and of course, making our models look good, too.” She says some of their location shoots are a “bit like being on the set of a move and making our guy have a totally new persona while he’s wearing our underwear.”
Increasingly Body Aware is getting noticed for their high-end, stylish glamour images that are certainly eye-popping sexy. Since the summer of 2017, Crystal Maldonado has been doing Body Aware’s photography. Maldonado is Phoenix-based.
In addition, Hollywood-based model/actor Michael James Dale is the long-time face and body of Body Aware. He’s popular with Body Aware fans for his bubbly personality and Brad Pitt circa 1990’s looks.
